Usually when one hears about a triple threat, it is in relation to a football player who is great at running, kicking, and passing or an entertainer who can sing, dance, and act. However, Laurel has its own multi-talented up-and-coming star in Jamilah Jones, a Laurel native who, on Thursday, October 7, celebrated the ribbon cutting on her three local businesses.
Jones, who now owns and operates Elite Tax Professionals, Elite Auto Pros, and Immaculate Healthcare between Chic-Fila and the former Western Sizzlin’, is herself – sizzlin’. It all began several years ago when she received bad tax advice. She felt that she was scammed and set out to learn about tax preparation so that she could do her own taxes. After that, she began doing taxes for others and, finding that she had a knack for it, decided to complete the coursework to become a certified tax professional. She has since been preparing taxes through her own business, Elite Tax Professionals.
In the off season, she started looking for ways to add to her entrepreneurial portfolio. She now offers in-home care services, mostly to elderly clients, through her Immaculate Healthcare business, and sells used cars through her Elite Auto Pros.
During Thursday’s ribbon cutting, hosted by the Jones County Chamber of Commerce, Laurel Mayor Johnny Magee welcomed Jones and her businesses to the area. “We are glad that you are here and we are glad that you chose Laurel,” he said.
Jones said that she was “looking forward to helping” a variety of clients. All three businesses are located at 1134 Highway 15 North and can be reached at 601.671.1811.
