M&M Insurance Agency hosts ribbon cutting to celebrate new location
February 15, 2022
On Monday, February 14, at 11 a.m. Melanie Wages, along with her staff, members of the community, and members of the Jones County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the ribbon cutting for her new location at 2336 Sandy Lane in Laurel next to Anthony’s Florist.
Wages has been an insurance agent for the last 21 years. She previously worked for Roy Roger’s Nationwide insurance company before becoming an independent agent in 2014 when she began her own business, M&M Insurance Agency. The company was previously located closer to Chick-fil-A. However, in December 2021, she was able to purchase her own offices on Sandy Lane and has since moved in with her team.
M&M Insurance Agency is an independent insurance company that can shop on behalf of their clients for a variety of insurance policies with different providers. Being able to shop among providers, allows independent insurance agents the ability to find the best rates and terms for their clients. Currently, M&M Insurance Agency provides for a broad spectrum of insurance needs including life, home, auto, individual health, group health plans, employee benefit plans through Colonial Life, and even pet insurance.
Wages said that her favorite part of the business is helping people. “I love the people. I love helping people.”
Laurel Mayor Johnny Magee welcomed Wages and her team. “We welcome her. We’re glad that she stayed in the city of Laurel and we wish her much success,” he said.
The City of Laurel, established as a lumber town in 1882, is conveniently situated approximately two hours from larger destination cities such as Jackson, Biloxi, New Orleans, and Mobile. In recent years, the city has become a destination all its own thanks, in part, to its starring role in HGTV’s popular “Hometown” series. As Laurel, and interest in it, continues to grow, we are committed to providing the resources necessary to help all of our residents and businesses reach their full potential.
