October in Laurel, Mississippi just can’t be beat. The leaves begin to change colors, that fresh autumn breeze rolls in and the fall fun kicks off! Join us this month for annual fairs and  festivities, unique outdoor experiences and delicious opportunities to take a bite out of Laurel.

The Cannon Motors Loblolly Festival 2024

A local favorite festival we are so excited to attend is The Cannon Motors Loblolly Festival. Each year on the first Saturday in October from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. , Laurel celebrates its heritage as a sawmill town. Vendors, artists and craftsmen come from all over to showcase their creations at this joyful event. Enjoy live music while you stroll and be sure to check out all the kid-friendly fun offered on site. Taste test yummy snacks and festival food to fill your bellies, all while exploring the festival with your favorite people. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend!

South Mississippi Fair

The South Mississippi Fair is a beloved tradition that has been around for over 100 years. Beginning in 1916, each year patrons come to experience live music and entertainment for all ages. There are a multitude of exhibits to explore–from, culinary, to art, to horticulture and more, there’s plenty of excitement to go around! Be sure to stop by and say hello to our animal friends who will also be on display during the fair–they can’t wait to put on a show for you.

One of the best parts about the fair? The delicious food! Dine on your favorite funnel cakes and deep fried treats while strolling with your friends and family. Landrum's Homestead & Village Old Tyme Fall Festival

The classic Landrum's Homestead & Village Old Tyme Fall Festival will be held October 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come experience a day of fall family fun, where there’s something for everyone to enjoy! Discover antique tools and marvel at the impressive engine show. For your listening pleasure, savor the soulful tunes of Southern String Dulcimers while dining on delicious homemade ice cream. Check out wood carving demonstrations, and journey through the Mystery House if you dare. Guests can participate in wagon rides, go gem mining, meet barnyard animals and more!

Wayne-Sanderson Farms Wing Wars

Looking ahead on our calendar, we can’t forget to remind you about an exciting new event - Wayne-Sanderson Farms Wing Wars. On Saturday, November 9, taste the best chicken wings from top chefs and community cooks as they compete to create the ultimate wings. This classic tailgate includes live football on the big screen and wings cooked fresh on site—the perfect recipe for a winning game day! Judged by professionals, this is the ideal event for food lovers and sports fans. Presale Tickets are currently available for $15 until November 8 at 12 p.m. Only a limited number of tickets will be sold at the event, so be sure to snag yours early!
