January 3, 2025

Kick off 2025 by tuning into your favorite television show–HGTV’s smash hit “Home Town,” starring Ben and Erin Napier. This locally-loved couple have poured their hearts into bringing life and restoration into our charming town and we are thrilled that they are back at it again.

If you’re a fan like we are, and are interested in seeing more of the locations and attractions from the show, then we’ve got the perfect way to check out all the places that have transformed throughout the series.

“Home Town” Tours

How do we recommend experiencing the magic of Laurel? Through your own eyes, of course! Book a golf cart tour with Bolton Home Town Tours or Laurel Home Town Tours and explore the city on a cart. You and your friends will stop throughout the tour to get a better look at some of the best spots around town!

If you’re in search of other ways to explore HGTV’s most charming town–and yes, we may be a little biased–we’ve got you covered. For larger groups, you can book directly with the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art to book your own walking tour around town or a step-on guide for a bus group.

Our good friends at the Laurel-Jones County Visitor Center can also assist you. Give them a call today or stop by to see the facility to have a chat with a representative. Not to mention, the desk you’ll see upon entering was built by our very own Ben Napier! For more places to experience your favorite features on the show, check out the “As Seen on TV” highlights on Visit Widget.

Shop the Series

Discover the charm of Laurel, Mississippi, through its unique shops and experiences featured on the show! Start at Laurel Mercantile Co., the flagship store filled with American-made home and kitchen products, locally designed t-shirts, art prints and items you may have seen on television.

Next, step into the Scotsman General Store & Ben’s Woodshop, where you can browse custom handmade creations that add the perfect touch to any home. Don’t miss the chance to peek through the viewing window into Ben’s Woodshop, where custom creations are on full display.

Nearby, guests can enjoy a sweet treat at the Scotsman Snowball Stand. Wrap up your visit with a stop at the Scent Library, a haven of handcrafted scents designed by Erin Napier herself, each telling a story from her life. Must-Try Dining

If you’re like us, your stomach starts to growl each time one of Laurel’s signature restaurants floats across the screen while you’re watching “Home Town.” While you’re in town following our itinerary, be sure to stop by some of the savory and delicious dining spots native to Laurel.

Begin your tasting tour at Pearl’s Diner–home to classic southern cuisine that will leave you wanting more. Fill your plate with crispy fried chicken, gooey macaroni and cheese and finish off your meal with a helping of banana pudding.

If you’re looking for a more unique place to please your palate, The Buzzard’s Roost may be just the place to chow down. Savor the wine-braised beef and potatoes, try the perfectly roasted mushroom grilled cheese or switch it up with their signature Fried PB&B–you can thank us later. Not to mention, the establishment offers lodging–with rooms designed by the Napier family– and the bar inside provides a relaxing place to indulge in a drink for our over 21 crowd.

HGTV’s newest season of “Home Town” premiered Sunday December 29th, 2024–so we can’t wait to watch the whole series with you! In between episodes, be sure to come check out all the famous locations for yourself. For more information, click here to begin planning your trip!

The City of Laurel, established as a lumber town in 1882, is conveniently situated approximately two hours from larger destination cities such as Jackson, Biloxi, New Orleans, and Mobile. In recent years, the city has become a destination all its own thanks, in part, to its starring role in HGTV’s popular “Hometown” series. As Laurel, and interest in it, continues to grow, we are committed to providing the resources necessary to help all of our residents and businesses reach their full potential.
