Software Upgrades to Interrupt City Business

December 12, 2024

In January, the City of Laurel will update its business operations software. Because of this update, on January 14th and 15th, 2025, city employees will be unable to process utility payments, employment applications, licenses and permits, or any other payments or applications on these two days.

Those who need to pay a bill or submit an application will need to do so before January 14th or plan to do so after January 15th. This interruption will not affect emergency services or other city services such as trash pickup or water services.

Thank you for your patience as we complete these needed upgrades!

The City of Laurel, established as a lumber town in 1882, is conveniently situated approximately two hours from larger destination cities such as Jackson, Biloxi, New Orleans, and Mobile. In recent years, the city has become a destination all its own thanks, in part, to its starring role in HGTV’s popular “Hometown” series. As Laurel, and interest in it, continues to grow, we are committed to providing the resources necessary to help all of our residents and businesses reach their full potential.
